In theory I have 6 more weeks before I can begin running... |
The achilles injury continues to prevent me from running, although things are feeling pretty much fine. In theory I have 6 more weeks before I can begin running, but I am tempted to either try talking the doctor into doing an MRI, or trying some short runs to test it. The smart thing of course is the MRI. Maybe I'll get lucky and it will show the achilles is completely healed. If I do test runs, I won't know how the achilles is until it starts to hurt, and by then the damage would be done.
I'm up about 10 lbs from my pre-injury weight, and about 15 lbs above my optimum race weight. I'm not real concerned about that since that will come off right away once I'm back to full training. It does show I can't ever retire from running without getting really big, really fast.
