Colorado pulled an upset victory in the womens race at the NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships. Kim Smith of Providence was the individual winner, leading her team to a third place finish behind runner-up Duke. Stanford, heavily favored in spite of the absence of #1 runner Sara Bei, ran poorly and finished 5th.
